After going to the firing range earlier, we came home and barbecued up this sumptuous meal consisting of top sirloin steak, Verna’s stuffed potatoes, BBQ corn cobettes and a tasty cucumber-avocado-tomato salad. With the weekly trip to shoot, a meal like this and football on the tube, life is good.

A Nice Rose
We were at the gun show most of the day, so we don’t have an article ready, therefore I present this nice rose as the daily post. We snapped this picture in the floral department at the supermarket. We didn’t buy roses, but we did get some nice stargazers that will be opening this week. More on that later.

Iridescent Purple Mum
This variety is called ‘Osteospermum’ or ‘Soprano Purple’ mum — or at least it’s the name we found for it on the web.
True mums and pansies are natural choices for cooler nighttime temperatures, so this is now in a pot in the patio with some smaller daisies and stuff. More purple buds are coming out soon. Click on the picture to enlarge.
Flower Power
We’re still waiting for the weather to change so we can clean up and replant the flower garden and plant new vegetables in our produce garden. After a couple of trips to the garden shop to get spring annuals, Verna will again transform our backyard into a rainbow of bright floral colors. The front yard and several other places will also get the flower power treatment.
