Double Ephiphyllum Bloom
I went into the patio this morning and saw these two ‘spring gold’ epiphyllum flowers. They only last a couple of days like most succulent flowers, but they are really pretty. I like the delicate structure of the stamen and pistil parts of the inner flower. We’re due to have red flowers in a few weeks on another epiphyllum in the patio. I’ll be sure and share those with you when they open up.

Vendela Rose
It has been a while since the flower concession had Vendela roses. The cream colored petals look very beautiful with skylight from the second-story window shining on them. Vendela is greatly admired for the hint of pink found on the petal edges. This champagne ivory rose adds a special touch to the living room when we have them.
Peacock Sighting at Mom and Dad’s House
My sister, Carol, heard what she described as an animal sound coming from behind the garage the other day. I asked what it sounded like – she imitated what I thought sounded like an elephant. She also said that she could hear something in a tree out there. Elephants in trees? Probably not.
Since she didn’t want to go out there, I decided to venture out to see what this mystery beast was all about. Imagine my surprise when I saw this peacock strutting across the top of one of the neighbor’s travel trailer just across the fence from the back part of the yard.
It was a beautiful bird, one of the prettiest I’ve seen, although it’s tail feathers were kind of mucked up like something ‘almost’ caught it one time. And it moved quite quickly too. It just wouldn’t pose for me, as I tried to get a picture.

Update: BB took a picture of the peacock later in the day:
