While the winters are mild here in the Los Angeles area, we definitely notice the seasonal change. In the garden shop, daisies and mums give way to pansies and Icelandic poppies. Yesterday, we got a couple of Icelandic poppies. I’m not sure if I’ll plant them out front or in the patio garden. Click on the image to enlarge.

Now that it’s cold outside, I like to find a patch of sunlight coming in and sit in it to get nice and warm. I will sit here until I hear the Mama working in the kitchen. When she goes in there, I know there will be FOOD for me right after that.
I’m not allowed in the kitchen, so I will go back and forth from one door to the other because I don’t know where the food will come out. The Mama calls it “Kitchen Kabuki” when I do that.
Pretty soon, one of the hoomins brings out my dish with my breakfast. I like mornings because I can sit in the sun and then EAT!

I have seen this little guy several times in the yard. For the last couple of weeks, I have seen him every once in a while, sitting atop the block wall in back. Tonight, I walked out and took this photo of him before he lumbers down behind the bushes and digs for grubs or whatever little possums do.

I think he’s adopted us.

I don’t even know the name of this variety of ice plant, but it sure makes bright red flowers for most of the year. Today, this was the brightest feature on the patio. Click on the image to enlarge.

These cute little Swarovski Crystal Penguins showed up just in time for my birthday last Thursday. I just love ‘em - click image to enlarge.

The photo behind the greeting is the one I took last winter at the Grand Canyon. Click to enlarge. If you would like to see the photo without the lettering, go to Winter Canyon from Lookout Studio.
Merry Christmas, everyone.
