This is the nearly complete house. Verna took this photo of the house just before we headed to California on Tuesday. Visualize a little landscaping and us standing on the porch for a more complete picture. Click on the image to enlarge.

We’re back in California today. We had a good, productive visit so that offsets the weather we got while commuting between the homes. We had a rainy drive going and coming.

We are just about ready for the final inspection on our new Arizona home. The contractor poured the concrete for the driveway today and we had the first bed delivered to one of the little bedrooms today. Things are moving right along.
The outdoor sconces are all installed and they are so beautiful! I took a picture of one of them with the light turned on and Bob doctored the photo to simulate twilight. This is how they should look when the sun goes down. Click on the image to enlarge.

We were waiting for Southwest Gas to arrive and install the meter and turn on the gas and got tired of standing, so we drove to a local discount store and bought a couple of folding camp chairs. After setting the chairs up on the patio, we posed for this family portrait. Click on the image to enlarge.

On Christmas Day we went to our new house to check out a couple of things and to discuss landscaping and other finishing topics. While we were there, this bird-of-prey flew over. I snapped several images of the bird and later compared them to an Arizona bird guide pamphlet I have. The closest match to what we were seeing is the Northern Goshawk. Click on the image to enlarge.
We went out to the new house today on our way to go shopping for a few things. One of the items we needed was ice for the cooler to keep the beer cold at the hotel room.
Verna looked in the freezer section of the refrigerator in the new house and noticed that there were lots of ice cubes in the ice-maker. At that time a light-bulb went off in her head - we could take this ice to the hotel room! But, we didn’t have a plastic bag - or did we? If you look carefully at the photo (click to enlarge) you will notice three small bags with zebra stripes on one side and white on the other. Yep - they are three doggie doogie pickup bags filled with ice cubes - and the Buds are cold and they taste just fine. ![]()
