We enjoyed these beautiful center-cut beef tenderloin steaks (a.k.a. Filet Mignon) grilled to medium-rare, topped with sautéed mushrooms. The steaks were served with butter-basted roasted-on-the-grill corn-on-the-cob, steamed broccoli florets and asparagus spears.

I went to the butcher counter on Thursday when we were doing the weekly grocery shopping. I told the butcher on duty that I did not see any beef tenderloin steaks in the meat cooler. He offered to cut me a couple from a fresh beef tenderloin. The man was kind enough to cut two from the center of the tenderloin and wrapped them for us. “That’s where I would want mine to come from,” he said.
Damn, the steaks and the whole meal were wonderful!
