Iris

We went to the recycle center today to convert our aluminum cans to cash. While Bob was doing business with the recyclers, I walked down the road to where there are a bunch of flowers planted. I took this photo of a very pretty Iris. Click on the image to enlarge.

Creeping Charlie

We’re in the California house this evening. When we got here, I did my usual garden check and took some pictures. This creeping charlie popped up in the whiskey barrel where one of our tropical philodendron plants used to be. The charlie seems to be doing OK in spite of having no attention for nearly three months. Click on the image to enlarge.

One Year Ago Today

Last year, February 6th was Superbowl Sunday. It was the first time we watched the big game in our new Arizona home. At that time, we had yet to acquire much furniture and we watched the Packers defeat the Steelers while sitting on folding chairs and using a picnic cooler for a table. I grilled up a couple of tenderloin steaks on the little portable charcoal grill. We ate the meal and enjoyed football afterwards. Click on the grill to see the tenderloin steak, baked potato and asparagus meal we ate that day.

Superbowl – Goodbye Football Until September

Adios to football for another off-season. The distraction from regular blogging is now over. Plan on seeing (usually) a post every day.

Congratulations to the New York Giants on their defeat of the New England Patriots 21-17.

Rodeo Practice Session

After target practice today, we pulled over to the Everett Bowman Rodeo Grounds where a practice session was underway for an upcoming rodeo event. There are a couple of cowboys in the photo that are doing some calf roping practice. Click on the image to enlarge.
