Cactus Flowers in 3D

cactus-flowers.pngVerna posted a photo of a flower that bloomed on our new cactus. When we planted the cactus, it had three flower buds on it.

Last night, the remaining two flowers opened up. This morning, I took a pair of photos this morning, hoping to make a 3D image of the flowers. This is the result.

Of course, you will need 3D glasses to view the red/cyan anaglyph. If you don’t have a pair of 3D glasses, you can view the 2D version here.

The New Homestead in 3D

homestead.pngThis is a view of the new house taken from the west property line. I climbed up the hill and hiked along the fence until I could get an unobstructed view of the house and yard.

The RV Pull-through is at the left next to the patio. Verna’s Tomatoes and beans are planted in the pots next to the master suite wall. The back courtyard gate has yet to be installed in this view.

You will need your free pair of 3D glasses to view the 3D anaglyph picture. Of course, if you don’t have 3D glasses, you can see the 2D version here

Wagon Wheel Gatepost in 3D

wheel3d.pngMike, the artist who designed and built our courtyard gate, has an eclectic assortment of buildings, rustic artifacts, antiques and art all around the property where the “Sawmill” business and Mike’s residence are located.

This wagon wheel gatepost is one of the things you see when you visit Mike’s place. I took a pair of images to later merge into this 3D image. Click on the image to enlarge.

Verna’s 3D Arizona House

vernas-3d-house.pngVerna took a pair of pictures of the newly cleaned-up palo verde in front of the house yesterday before the landscape crew started placing the river rocks. They cleaned up the slopes in front of the house and trimmed the tree before Verna took a pair of photos which coincidentally lined up to allow me to compose this 3D anaglyph picture. Of course, to properly view the anaglyph, you will need your free pair of 3D glasses. If you don’t have 3D glasses, you can view the 2D image here.

Arizona Sunrise in 3D

3d-sunrise.pngEvery morning, the dogs wake me up like clockwork at the crack of dawn. This morning was no exception. We walked across the road and I noticed the rising sun shining through the branches of a mesquite tree.

I pointed the camera in the direction of the tree and snapped one image then another to be sure. Initially, I did not plan for this to be a 3D photo but when I got the camera loaded into the computer, I noticed the potential for this pair to become an anaglyphic image. I merged the two together to produce this 3D sunrise photo. Click on the image to enlarge.

You will need red/blue or red/cyan 3D glasses to view the image. If, by chance, you don’t have your free pair of 3D glasses yet, you can see the 2D image here.

Spirit of Santa Monica in 3D

dc3d.pngDuring our drive to our dentist in Santa Monica, CA, we took a side trip through Santa Monica Airport where I learned to fly. Since the last time I was there, the city erected this monument to the memory of Donald Douglas who founded Douglas Aircraft. His company built many airplanes in Santa Monica.

The airplane is the venerable DC3 which is still in use some places in the world today. The plane sits on three pillars designed to give it a jaunty climbing left turn attitude. A bronze statue of Donald Douglas and his dog “Bar” (short for Wunderbar – German for wonderful).
