{"id":6553,"date":"2022-03-11T22:00:25","date_gmt":"2022-03-12T05:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vernabob.com\/blog\/?p=6553"},"modified":"2022-03-18T16:00:42","modified_gmt":"2022-03-18T23:00:42","slug":"meet-mr-tuxedo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/vernabob.com\/blog\/2022\/03\/11\/meet-mr-tuxedo\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet Tucker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vernabob.com\/graphics\/imageview.php?image=http:\/\/vernabob.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/20220311-verna-and-mrr-t.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vernabob.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/20220311-verna-and-mrr-t.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As we mentioned in our comments from last month&#8217;s post about <a href=\"http:\/\/capnbob.us\/blog\/2022\/02\/15\/so-long-beethoven\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">losing Bay Bay<\/a>, we were going to look for another dog to rescue. Well, today the <a href=\"https:\/\/wickenburghumane.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Humane Society of Wickenburg<\/a> had an adoption event at our local Tractor Supply store and just like that, we adopted <strong>Mr. Tuxedo<\/strong> whom we will call <strong>Tuck Tuck<\/strong> for short. He is a long haired Chihuahua with mostly black fur and a bit of white here and there. He is about a year old and was found wandering around in Wittman, about 20 miles southeast of Wickenburg.<\/p>\n<p>He has only been &#8220;home&#8221; for a couple of hours, but is fitting in nicely with our activities and with the other dog. He is a very affectionate little guy and seems to demand a little attention which we happily have given. He has a good appetite, can be frisky at times, is leash trained and mostly housebroken. We are  looking forward to taking care of him for a long time. In the (clickable) image above, Verna posed with him in the courtyard. Just now, as I was typing in the story, he came into the office jumped into my lap and is resting as I finish this. I think we&#8217;re all happy about our new mutual relationship.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE 03-16-22: Since the adoption last week, we decided to dump the &#8220;Tuxedo&#8221; name and just call him &#8220;Tucker.&#8221; He is already recognizing and answering to the new moniker.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we mentioned in our comments from last month&#8217;s post about losing Bay Bay, we were going to look for another dog to rescue.
