Native to the eastern Mediterranean and the southern part of Turkey. It still grows in abundance in the surroundings of Baghdad and Aleppo. These flowers are extremely fragrant.<\/p>\n<p>Sweet scented Hyacinths are favorites in the garden or as potted plants. In the garden they look their best mass planted in blocks of one color. They are widely grown commercially both for cut flowers and as potted flowering plants. Individual flowers are densely crowded into the stem, making a solid looking flower head.
