Today we stopped over to the Del Amo Mall for a preview of Armed Forces Day. The exhibits were still being set up, so we’re going back again on Sunday. The parade and flyover will be tomorrow. Verna took this shot of me posing by an Army Black Hawk Helicopter — A very cool machine. Click the image for full-size.

At the Interpretive Center
I took this picture a few weeks ago when Verna and I were visiting the Point Vicente Interpretive Center and Whale Watching facility. It was a cool day with good visibility and we enjoyed our visit. We often take a drive down to the south side of the Palos Verdes Peninsula and enjoy the surf, wildlife and scenery we encounter. Click on the image to enlarge.
Mother’s Day 2007
How can you make Mom happy on Mother’s Day? If it’s Verna, you go to the shooting range with her. JJ did just that. He came over and went to the range with us and we shot a bunch of .38 special, 9MM and both 12 and 20 gauge shotguns. It was a good outing and we all had fun. Click the photo for full-sized version.
The Lighthouse at Point Vicente
While this appears to be a sketch of the lighthouse at Point Vicente, it is actually a photo that has been processed to look like that. Verna took this picture out of the truck window as we passed the lighthouse on a windy day. I processed it with a freeware graphics program I use called Irfanview.
