Rapid Fire
Today was a fun day at the shooting range — Verna is getting really good at emptying the magazine in her 20 gauge Remington 870 in just a couple of seconds. She maintains good accuracy also.
One of the guys that comes in the range told her that she was as fast and accurate as some cops he knows.
Of course she also loves the little gun.
Pirates of the Marina Del Rey
Yesterday, as we were returning from the dentist in Santa Monica, we diverted through the Marina Del Rey via the Venice Canals (see the post below). We wanted to see the scenery and to take some pictures. When Verna looked up to the top of one of the condos along the main Marina channel, she was surprised to see a pirate preparing to launch an attack on vessels in the channel! Birds in the Canals of Venice
(Our site has been down due to a problem with the database. We appreciate your patience while our ISP troubleshoots the problem.)
We were driving adjacent to the Grand Canal in Venice and spotted these white birds as they climbed up the bank. No, not Venice, Italy but Venice, California. We aren’t sure what species these waterfowl are, but they sure are pretty.
Superbowl Dinner
After going to the firing range earlier, we came home and barbecued up this sumptuous meal consisting of top sirloin steak, Verna’s stuffed potatoes, BBQ corn cobettes and a tasty cucumber-avocado-tomato salad. With the weekly trip to shoot, a meal like this and football on the tube, life is good.
