I found this photo in my archives and wanted to share it here. Little that I have done in my career in aerospace has made me prouder than to have been on the team that produced this magnificent aircraft.
In The Pipe
In the image to the left, a 9×19 round is poised atop the magazine with the bullet resting on the barrel ramp ready to be loaded into the chamber, or “pipe.” When the action is released forward, the round is ready to fire.

Behold my new Glock model 30. Holster by Bianchi. – depicted with two ten-round magazines.
I really like this gun. Like my Glock model 26, it’s accurate, smooth and easily stripped for cleaning.

Back to Standard Time
Now that we’re back on Pacific Standard Time, the sun was setting just after five PM when this bird was heading off into the sunset. I used Verna’s Canon EOS with telephoto lens.

Once again, the leaves are falling and the pumpkins in the patch are ripe. It’s the time that all restless spirits set forth in their annual ritual of calling on the living – and demanding treats. Since the fifth century BC, Halloween has been celebrated as a cross-quarter day, a day halfway between an equinox (equal day / equal night) and a solstice (minimum day / maximum night in the northern hemisphere).
