Animated Tree Ornaments
The mesquite tree next to the bird feeders often fills up with finches; both gold finches and house finches. They look like little tree ornaments to me. Click on the image to enlarge.
White Asian Lily
The lilies I got for the vase in the great room were looking a little wimpy, so Bob brought some nice white Asian lilies to take their place. Click on the image to enlarge.
Devil’s Tongue Orange Flowers
Late in the season, but this devil’s tongue barrel cactus is displaying some wonderful orange flowers. Click on the image to enlarge.
Scorpion Glow
I apologize for posting this out-of-focus picture of a dead scorpion on the RV drive, but the lighting conditions weren’t too good to avoid a slight camera motion that blurred the image. At any rate, I just wanted to show how these little beasties show up if you put ultraviolet light (a.k.a. black light) on them.

A while back, we bought little hand held flash lights with UV LEDs just for the purpose of detecting scorpions. Cabela found this one on the patio (thank goodness it was already dead) and I found a couple in the garage the other night using the UV flashlight.
Waiting To Be Fed
Bay Bay and Cabela know that they get their breakfast after the Mama and Daddy finish eating. They sit in a strategic place on the great room rug to keep tabs on us as we eat. Click on the image to enlarge.
