Desert Tikis

Desert Tikis

One of our townsfolk carved these south-Pacific tikis out of palm tree trunks. He has a roadside concession just down US 60 southeast of town. Click on the image to enlarge.

Desert Train

Desert Train

Verna got this photo of a southbound freight train as we were returning from a shopping trip to the Phoenix Metro Area. The engineers and crew are lucky to be treated to spectacular desert views as they progress along their track. Click on the image to enlarge.

Walking The Dogs

Walking The Dogs

We had a rather large dinner this afternoon. As has become tradition, we walk the dinner off by taking the dogs for a walk. Verna took this picture of me carrying Cabela, since the little dog was pulling on the leash so hard she almost knocked me down. I don’t mind carrying her and neither does she until she sees something she wants to take a close look (or sniff). Click on the image to enlarge.

Second Spring

Second Spring

Arizona experiences a “second spring” in October. The weather is warm and the flowers bloom. Of course, my Bishop’s Cap flowers have been blooming since early spring, all summer long and now again in second spring. Click on the image to enlarge.

Thursday Night Sunset

Thursday Night Sunset

We seem to get a lot of pretty sunsets here in our Arizona home. I took this photo a little after six PM local time looking up the wash behind our house. When we were in California, we would usually get the night time coastal stratus clouds that would obscure any good colorful sunsets. Click on the image to enlarge.
