Going Home From The Vet

vet-hosp.jpgWe went to the County recycle center today to turn in aluminum cans. After that, we did some grocery shopping. We left the dogs in the fenced-in patio while we were doing errands. When we got home, we discovered to our horror that the little dogs had found some rat bait in a bucket on top of a small table. Somehow, they got up on the table and drug the package out. We’re not sure how much was left in the package, but it was sure all gone now.

We called the vet and they advised bringing the pets and the package of bait immediately to the animal hospital. To make a long story short, the vet induced both of them to vomit and then gave them an activated charcoal treatment to absorb any residual poison in their gastrointestinal tracts.

Bottom line, there is a 99% chance of them recovering. We have some vitamin K-1 tablets for them to take over the next month or so with some follow-up visits to our Arizona vet.

Bay Bay’s First Trip To The Big House

first-cal-trip.jpg

We brought the dogs to California today. This is Bay Bay’s first visit to California (that we know about). He was a good boy during the six-hour trip and likes the “big house” too. He and Cabela chased around and around the family room, the living room and the garage. They make good playmates when given enough room to roam.

Cozy

bay-bay-comfort.jpgWhen the weather gets cool, the Mama lets me snuggle on her lap under my blankie. Since I don’t have long hair, I shiver when I’m cold but I am nice and cozy when I snuggle. Sometimes the Mama scratches my ears and neck.

I also like to snuggle with the Daddy. He sits on the sofa watching TV and lets me curl up next to him. I am really getting used to my new hoomins. I think I will stay here.

Sunday Morning Going Down

I snapped this today while walking the dogs on the road in front of the new house. The temperature was a brisk 42° so the dogs and I finished our business and went back inside the cozy house seen in the photo. Click on the image to enlarge.

Collateral Damage

We had a visit from a neighborhood dog that we had not previously met this morning. Her name was “Oreo” and she came calling on our other dogs to meet and greet. Unfortunately for me, I accidentally let Cabela and Bay Bay get loose through the screen door. As I chased them down the driveway, I stumbled and fell. I scraped my left elbow on the concrete as I went down.

I recovered both of our dogs and also secured Oreo and returned all dogs to their owners. Verna dressed my wounded elbow with an oversize bandage. If you’re not squeamish, you can click on the image below to reveal the actual injured area. Click again to put the bandage back on. What a mess!
