No, Bear didn’t dye her fur this rainbow color for Halloween; she was merely lying on the floor where a beam of light through one of the Swarovski Crystal miniatures sitting on the window sill above the staircase landed.

We stopped at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center along the cliffs of the Palos Verdes Peninsula to watch the waves and see what we could see. We were passed by dozens of pelicans and seagulls in the short time we were there. I took this photo of a passing California Brown Pelican that soared by only a few yards above us. Click to enlarge.
We were at Lowe’s this afternoon getting some birdseed and garden supplies. While we were there we shopped around looking at the pretty flowers. Well, we weren’t the only ones interested in the flowers. This little guy browsed these little purple flowers long enough for me to get a half dozen shots of him. This was one of the best of the lot. We were in San Pedro today for some quick business. While we were in the area, I had a chance to take some photos of the many interesting sights. The lighting conditions (overcast) when I took this photo of a seagull near the fishing fleet slips seemed to warrant that this handsome bird be rendered in black and white.

Spotted in the back yard today under the bird feeder. Western scrub jays are common in California, but not very commonly seen in our yard. About 20 years ago, the jays seemed to be around more, probably because our former neighbor, Larry, used to feed them peanuts. Bob has seen them take peanuts, shell and all, out of Larry’s hand.
