Critters

Watchdog

While I’m the garden, my constant companion, Bear, keeps me company and watches over me while I putter around. I was taking some photos yesterday and turned around to take this photo of her.

The Birds

We indulge the small sparrows and finches that live in the area by providing feeders and birdbaths. Here, a couple are taking a drink while others are waiting their turn. Photo taken last weekend while we were sitting on the patio swing.

California Brown Pelican

One of the prettiest sights you can see on the California coastline is pelicans soaring along the cliffs. This is a breeding-age California Brown Pelican – the red markings under the bill and other color attributes indicate the pelican’s age. I took this photo last Saturday when we were at Point Vicente.

A Cow on the Balcony?

We’re not sure what sort of statement the people who live in this house are trying to make, but it is a strange thing to see a cow on a balcony in Torrance, California. Photographed in the vicinity of Torrance High.
