Saguaros all over the desert have flowers opening on them. I took this image at the shopping center today. We will be getting saguaro flowers on our cactus at home soon (see inset).
There just happened to be a finch perching on the cactus behind the open flower when I took this picture. Click on the image to enlarge.
I have been growing some onions in the courtyard this spring. This is one of the flower pods now sprouting from the 30 inch stalks. Click on the image to enlarge.
I took this image of the Sun today with several sunspots visible. Over the next few days, M-Class solar flares are possible.
One of the “stargazer” Asian lilies I got yesterday opened. I took this close-up image of the delicate structures and bold colors on the petals. Click on the image to enlarge.
There are yucca trees all over town that are in bloom. This one is part of the landscape in front of our veterinary clinic on Wickenburg Way (US 60). I took this photo as we drove home from weekly grocery shopping. Click on the image to enlarge.
Spring brings out blossoms on most of our cacti, shrubs and trees. The Arizona State Tree is the the Palo Verde. This is a photo of a tree in the wash in full bloom. A close-up of some individual blossoms can be seen in the inset. Click on the image to enlarge.
