Property Improvements now in Progress

Wall work started

I took this photo last Friday evening from the neighbor’s place across the road. Along the front of our property, just across the road, the footing for the new block wall has been poured and is now curing.

The purpose of the front wall is to divert runoff from the west road away from our landscape and RV drive. We are also having a wall built in the little wash at the right of the photo in the distance, the purpose of which is to divert runoff from the little wash away from the RV drive and onto the west side of the lot where there is a little creek that runs down to the road.

The third wall, which will run the length of the RV drive behind the house will divert runoff that comes down the hill in back. Upon completion of the walls, the entire RV drive will be paved in concrete. Click on the image to enlarge.

Mesquite Tree Under a Colorful Sunset

Mesquite Tree at Dusk

It’s just another beautiful Arizona sunset. We’re due some rain and cooler temperatures over the next few days, so some of the pre-frontal cirrus clouds made for a nice, colorful show at dusk in the background. The mesquite tree in the foreground is just outside of the west courtyard wall as seen in the last post of Verna in the courtyard. Click on the image to enlarge.

Verna in the Courtyard

We’re having a little (well, maybe a lot) of work done around the house. Three new concrete walls and a paved RV drive are in the works. Verna paused at the courtyard wall to look at the progress being made on a nice 70° afternoon in beautiful Wickenburg. Click on the image to enlarge.

Plunge

Plunge

Besides pooping and lifting his leg at the dog park, Bay Bay’s favorite thing to do is get in the little tub they have there and splash around. When we arrive inside the park, the dogs take off and run around doing their off-the-leash thing. Meanwhile, Verna will fill the little tub with water. By and by, Bay Bay will charge back to the water station, jump in the tub and splash around for a while before jumping out and resuming previous activities until it’s time to ride home. Moon and Stearman

Moon and Stearman

Verna and I were out walking the dogs a couple of days ago when I heard the distinctive sound of a radial engine-powered airplane overhead. I did not have my fancy DSLR camera with me at the time, or I’m certain I would have taken a better photo, but this one is not bad considering I used my pocket-sized Canon A1400 point-and-shoot camera. By coincidence, the plane passed very nearly in front of the waning crescent moon. Click on the image to enlarge.

Valentine’s Day 2015

Crystal Champagne Cocktail

Happy Valentine’s Day to the love of my life, Verna. Have a lovely Waterford Crystal Champagne Cocktail! (She got four of these Crystal goblets for Valentine’s Day.) Click on the image to enlarge.
