Rain Forecast Tonight

radar.jpg

I checked the National Weather Service radar site around six PM this evening. It looks like there are some echoes headed our way (red circle), but most of it is up north in Mohave County and Utah. We could use the rain, so I hope if it does rain it will do so overnight. The forecast for tonight is 30% chance of showers and 50% tomorrow with a high temperature of only 55°.

The longer range forecast is for gradual warming for the rest of February and early March. Then, after the Vernal Equinox, we should be getting warmer and warmer. There will be lots of cactus flowers on and around our little patch of the desert.

We can hardly wait to fill the spa for the spring, summer and fall season when temperatures will be warm enough to take a dip without freezing your butt off when getting out.

Snow on Mount San Jacinto

We drove through Banning Pass, located about a quarter of the way between the California house and our Arizona home when we headed out yesterday. After a recent rain/snowfall, San Jacinto mountain’s northern slopes look to be covered with snow. The peak is about six miles south of Interstate 10 as we pass through Whitewater. One Year Ago Today

Last year, February 6th was Superbowl Sunday. It was the first time we watched the big game in our new Arizona home. At that time, we had yet to acquire much furniture and we watched the Packers defeat the Steelers while sitting on folding chairs and using a picnic cooler for a table. I grilled up a couple of tenderloin steaks on the little portable charcoal grill. We ate the meal and enjoyed football afterwards. Click on the grill to see the tenderloin steak, baked potato and asparagus meal we ate that day.

Rodeo Practice Session

After target practice today, we pulled over to the Everett Bowman Rodeo Grounds where a practice session was underway for an upcoming rodeo event. There are a couple of cowboys in the photo that are doing some calf roping practice. Click on the image to enlarge.
