We were at our new home site in Arizona today doing some business. We went to the lot we recently purchased just to have a look around and make some decisions about how we want to direct our contractor to proceed with the new home construction. Just before we departed, I noticed a birds nest in the palo verde tree on the roadway in front of the lot. As I prepared to photograph the nest, a tiny verdin emerged and lit on a branch in the tree. At first, I thought it was a hummingbird being so small. After it perched in the tree, I took this photo. Click on the image to get a closer look. Click here to see its nest.
Critters
Walking Vulture Mine Trail
The hoomins took me to an abandoned desert gold mine. I got to go with them on an above-ground walking tour. I liked it – there were lizards to chase and birds too. We went up and down hills and stairs and walked through some of the old buildings. There was a lot of junk too. It was fun but we walked a long way and I got tired. When I got back in the SUV, I got a drink and took a nap. Click the picture to see us big.
Barking at Banners
I like to bark at airplanes towing banners – not other airplanes, just the ones with banners. The daddy made another movie of me looking up at the banner, barking at it, and then a picture of the airplane. Click the > to see me.
The Stairs Game
Today, the Mama and the Daddy played the stairs game with me. The Mama goes upstairs and the Daddy stays downstairs. The Mama calls me and I run upstairs to see her. Then, the Daddy calls me and I run downstairs to see him. and then the Mama calls me upstairs again.
I like playing the game but after a few laps it makes me tired. The Mama tells me that the exercise is good for me.
After the game is over, I go to the water dish and drink and drink. Then I go and take a nap.

Duck and Waterfall
Verna and I went to the South Coast Botanic Garden today for the bonsai show. After viewing the bonsai on display, we visited the koi pond. A couple of ducks have adopted the pond lately. I took a picture of one of them wading in the pond’s waterfall. Click on the image to enlarge.
Flower Smelling
When I went out onto the patio, I noticed one of the Asian lilies was open. I usually remove the pollen pods from the flowers to make them last longer. After I went out and removed them with a tissue, Bear got curious about what I was doing to the flower, so she went to the flower and sniffed at it. My camera was ready and I snapped this picture.
