Critters

Red Tail Hawk

We took a drive today to San Pedro to meet some friends. While we were there, a red tail hawk circled the area while he looked for lunch. I snapped this image of him as he passed overhead. Click on the image to enlarge.

Bertable Ride

bear-face.jpgYesterday, I got to ride in the Mama’s bertible. I like the bertible because the top is down and I can sniff the air better. I can also see better and hear better.

We stopped at Daddy’s truck fixing place and the Daddy got out and walked away. I wanted to go with him but the Mama took be back home. Even though I wanted to get out with the Daddy, it was fun riding.

After a while the Daddy came home and I was glad to see him.

The picture is me on the patio. Click me to make me big. OK – time to go and take a nap.

Cooper’s Hawk

We went out to the memorial park today to put out some Fathers Day decorations for Verna’s Dad. On our way into the place, we spotted a Cooper’s Hawk swooping low over the ground. Verna took this photo of it during a low pass. It appeared to have some prey on the ground somewhere although we couldn’t see anything there. Cooper’s Hawk sure is a handsome bird.

Another Picnic Today

Yipee! We got to have another picnic today. Lots of new news since this one was in a place called Quartzsite. My hoomins had salad with left over steak for lunch. I got to snack on the left over steak too. Click us to make us big.

Picnic in the Park

The Mama and Daddy took me to a park today for a picnic and barbecue. I like the park because it has lots of news – you know – scent left by other dogs that I like to sniff and ‘read the news.’ After I do that, the Hoomins make food on the fire and I get some of the meat after they eat. This is a picture of me just before I took a nap. Click to make me big.

Bird in a Yucca

We’re still not sure of this bird’s species, but we’re closing in on it with our guide to Arizona birds booklet. He has a yellow face and breast and is mottled browns on the back and wings. He is perched on a yucca bloom and was noted to pick on the blooms for either insects or the flower’s blossoms. Click on the image to see (slightly) enlarged.
