Doves in a Palm Tree
We went over to Mom and Dad’s place today. While visiting in the back yard, Mom heard the doves cooing behind the garage. We went behind the garage and saw these two perched on a palm frond. Click image to enlarge.
Bearded Iris
On Monday, I posted a photo of irises that we bought as cut flowers. The last couple of days, the bearded iris from the bulbs I planted in January are coming out. This photo shows the first one on the patio this year. Click the image to enlarge and you can see a Sachem Skipper on the flower.
Pelicans Over the Point
This photo of a flock of California Brown Pelicans is from last October 11th. I took it from the LA County Fishing Access on Palos Verdes Drive South. The birds are soaring toward Point Vicente, a few hundred yards in the distance. Click on the image below for a 1024×768 enlargement.

Photographing the Photographer
We went to visit Mom and Dad over the weekend. While we were there, Verna spotted a little butterfly perched on a flower growing out front of the house. She pointed her Canon XTi camera at the butterfly and I pointed my little Canon A710 at her. I superimposed the shot she took of the butterfly (circled) on the photo that I took of her.
