When the puppies go out for a walk, they have to have their little paws on some pretty hot surfaces here in the desert when it’s summertime. In order to allow them to ‘cool their heels,’ Verna got them a kiddie wading pool and filled it with water. They both happily jump into the water and splash around a bit before wanting to get out and go back into the house. Click on the image to enlarge.
We’re in Kingman, AZ tonight, just a two-hour drive from home. We’re looking forward to being home tomorrow (weather permitting, T’storms forecast), to re-invigorate ourselves and prepare for another sojourn to California next week.

We are in Santa Rosa, CA, tonight after having spent a nice day visiting with our three granddaughters. We took them to lunch and got caught up with what everyone has been doing and such. The oldest is going to give birth to the little dude any day now and, unfortunately, we won’t be able to stay for the blessed event, since we have to head back home in the morning.
While we were driving through town, we saw a great many historical structures that were still in great shape. In addition to the nice old house on the photo, we saw some great old buildings dating back to before 1925 that were still in premium condition. Click on the image to enlarge.
When we visit the Grandma’s house, Bay Bay and I can’t go in because the Grandma is not well. So, we get to sit outside and get treats from the hoomins while they sit and eat their lunches.
We get walked every hour and get water and more treats. We like to visit the Grandma’s house. Click on us to make us big.
The Mama and the Daddy took us to the dog park today. We haven’t been there in a long time. I had fun. I took a dip in the little tub they keep near the water fountains.
Cabela and I liked being in the dog park so much that we didn’t want to go home. We took a little ride afterwards so I can get used to being in the new truck. Click on me to make me big.
It’s hard for a dark-colored dog in the desert sun running barefoot on the hot sand on the road in front of the house. That’s why we have a wading pool for them when they get back on the patio. Bay Bay voluntarily jumps in the pool, but little Cabela has to be helped in. Once she’s there, she appreciates the Mama dipping her and rubbing cool water on her skin.
