Bird Watching

bird-watcher.jpg

We have lots of critters at our new house. There are lots of birdies, jackrabbits, bunnies and some chipmunks. Today I watched a gray and orange bird on the bush outside of my front window. The Mama took a picture of us. I want to play with the birdies but I can’t get out of the window. Ed. note – the bird is a female cardinal.

First Furniture

We were waiting for Southwest Gas to arrive and install the meter and turn on the gas and got tired of standing, so we drove to a local discount store and bought a couple of folding camp chairs. After setting the chairs up on the patio, we posed for this family portrait. Click on the image to enlarge.

Improv-ice

improv-ice.jpgWe went out to the new house today on our way to go shopping for a few things. One of the items we needed was ice for the cooler to keep the beer cold at the hotel room.

Verna looked in the freezer section of the refrigerator in the new house and noticed that there were lots of ice cubes in the ice-maker. At that time a light-bulb went off in her head – we could take this ice to the hotel room! But, we didn’t have a plastic bag – or did we? If you look carefully at the photo (click to enlarge) you will notice three small bags with zebra stripes on one side and white on the other. Yep – they are three doggie doogie pickup bags filled with ice cubes – and the Buds are cold and they taste just fine. 😉

Happiness is a Warm Puppy (or Two)

When the weather gets cold and rainy, the Mama puts on our sweaters and gives us blankets to keep warm. Sometimes I let Cabela share my bed even though she has one too. Click the picture to make us big. OK nap time now – bye.

Cabela and Bear Napping Places

naptime.jpgI took a couple of shots of the dogs as they laid down for their afternoon naps. I stitched them together to make this composite image.

Cabela likes to lay on the staircase where she can keep an eye on the Mama who usually is at her desk in the family room. She also can see the Mama in the kitchen since there is a mirror on the wall just above the dining room table. Cabela doesn’t want to miss any food that the Mama might be making.

Bear, also a chow hound, likes to nap by the kitchen door where she also can see the Mama at her desk. Plus, she is right there where treats from the kitchen are usually served.

Warm Winter Weather

us.jpgWe awakened to a warm day today. The Santa Ana winds brought the temperatures up at our California home. It seemed like a good day for an outdoor barbecue, so we prepared baked potatoes, baked acorn squash, baked salmon steak and a grilled New York strip steak.

We posed in front of the grill while the meal was cooking on the outdoor grill. Click on the image to enlarge.
