Yipee! We got to have another picnic today. Lots of new news since this one was in a place called Quartzsite. My hoomins had salad with left over steak for lunch. I got to snack on the left over steak too. Click us to make us big.

Picnic in the Park
The Mama and Daddy took me to a park today for a picnic and barbecue. I like the park because it has lots of news – you know – scent left by other dogs that I like to sniff and ‘read the news.’ After I do that, the Hoomins make food on the fire and I get some of the meat after they eat. The Stairs Game
Today, the Mama and the Daddy played the stairs game with me. The Mama goes upstairs and the Daddy stays downstairs. The Mama calls me and I run upstairs to see her. Then, the Daddy calls me and I run downstairs to see him. and then the Mama calls me upstairs again.
I like playing the game but after a few laps it makes me tired. The Mama tells me that the exercise is good for me.
After the game is over, I go to the water dish and drink and drink. Then I go and take a nap.

Flower Smelling
When I went out onto the patio, I noticed one of the Asian lilies was open. I usually remove the pollen pods from the flowers to make them last longer. After I went out and removed them with a tissue, Bear got curious about what I was doing to the flower, so she went to the flower and sniffed at it. My camera was ready and I snapped this picture. Pretty Bear
The Mama sprayed me with the skin stuff and then brushed me. I don’t like getting sprayed but the Mama and Daddy tell me I’m pretty after I get brushed. I like getting brushed. I like to take naps too. I guess I’ll go take one now.
Kitchen Kabuki
I’m not allowed to go into the kitchen, but I like to see what the hoomins are doing when they’re making food. There are two places that I can see into the kitchen and I go back and forth between the two hoping that one of my hoomins will bring me a treat.
The Mama calls it “kitchen kabuki dance” when I go back and forth. The Daddy calls it “freakonnoitering.”

Sometimes I get tired going back and forth so if they don’t bring me a treat, I go and take a nap. If I do get a treat, I eat it and then go take a nap.
