Grandmother Ilda

My sister emailed this photo of our Grandmother today. I’m not sure where this was taken or when – it’s a new one to me. Ilda was part Cherokee and Creek and loved all things Native American. She’s been gone for over 10 years but we all still miss her.

The Birdman

One of the weekly chores is to fill the bird feeders out back. Bob is getting ready to put the feeder back up on the garden crook. Our customers are sparrows and house finches most of the year.

Back From Avalon

We didn’t blog over the last several days since we were on our annual pilgrimage to Avalon, on Catalina Island, the place where we were married. When we’re there we like to stay in the same hotel and the same room, if we can get it. This year we did. While we were getting ready to depart this morning, I snapped this picture of Verna who was on the street below our balcony.

The Bear Stair

We found this at Bed, Bath and Beyond – this fits the ‘beyond’ category.

Since Bear, our Shep/Lab mix dog is getting a little older, she has had trouble jumping into the back of the SUV. Solution? The “Bear Stair!” I’m sure it was not called that in the store, but it fits fine, considering the application and who it’s for.

We were picking Bear up from the kennel at the end of our vacation when Bob took this video.

Mom and Dad’s Visit

We were treated to a pleasant surprise this week when my Mom and Dad dropped in for a little visit. They had just been to Dad’s doctor and stopped at the house on their way home. Bob came home from work a little early, so we all had a nice chat catching up on family matters and gossip. It was very pleasant.
