Helping the Yarnell Fire Victims

Collection Center

Verna and I took some canned goods, some packaged food, a few blankets and bottled water to the Wickenburg Community Center today. The center is being used to stockpile and distribute food and supplies to the victims of the Yarnell fire disaster. We were glad that we had a stock of items on hand to be able to take them there today. Click on the image to enlarge.

Of course, there were plenty of other community members who brought a lot of items. Click here to see more.

A Desert Spa in 3D

A Desert Spa in 3DA few days ago, Verna went to the Spa at Los Caballeros here in town. They gave her a pedicure, a manicure and a facial. She liked it. We plan to make a visit to the spa a regular thing.

While we were there, I took a pair of images of the spa and later combined them into this anaglyph view. Click on the image to enlarge.

Of course, you will need your free pair of 3D glasses to view the anaglyph image. If you don’t have your 3D glasses you can view the 2D image here.

A Pool for the Clubhouse

A Pool for the Clubhouse

In addition to the new clubhouse at the Retirement Ranch, the management is installing a pool for the seniors. The pool is relatively shallow with stairs at both shallow ends and a ladder in the deepest part. There is also a whirlpool spa at the south end of the pool. Click on the panorama to see full-sized in the image viewer. Be sure to scroll right to see the whirlpool.

The pool should be complete in a few weeks. I will post another panorama of the complete, water-filled pool and spa.

Desert Spiny Lizard

Desert Spiny Lizard

I flushed this Desert Spiny Lizard the other morning when loading some aluminum cans into the truck. The lizard didn’t scurry under a rock right away, so I was able to get this shot of it still on the rocks where the bags with cans had been.

We have seen it several times since hiding near the compost where it (presumably) eats insects attracted to the heap. Cabela tries to give chase to the lizard when going out for a walk, but we don’t let her.
