Palm Cactus – Again
Since we posted about a cactus growing out of a palm tree a couple of years ago, part of the prickly pear cactus fell down. The other day, I took this photo of the cactus in the tree being propped up by a brace. They had it held up by ropes, but now, someone built a wooden base for the cactus to rest on. Here’s how the cactus looked back in September of 2010 . . .
A Desert Compass Cactus in 3D
This cactus is growing in our back yard amongst all the native desert plant and animal life. The cactus is about a foot high and ten inches in diameter at the base. Like many other barrel cacti, it leans toward the south, hence the “compass” name.
I was up on the hill behind the RV drive and took the image pair that I merged into this anaglyph image. Click on the image to enlarge.
Of course, you will need your free pair of 3D glasses to view the anaglyph image. If you don’t have your 3D glasses you can view the 2D image here.
