This ocotillo (oh-co-tee-yo) was in bloom in the old downtown area of town while we were playing tourist yesterday. We visited several of the little shops in the business district along Wickenburg Way. I spotted this ocotillo on our way back to the parking lot. Click on the image to enlarge.
Bob and I were in the old historic part of town today to browse through the curio shops and art galleries. On the walkway back to the parking lot I spotted this heart embedded into a prickly pear paddle. Of course, I had to get a photo. Click on the image to enlarge.
I was on the patio earlier this evening and saw a javelina up in the wash behind the house. It disappeared behind the vegetation and I dismissed it as another distant sighting. Cabela started barking and carrying on in the front room. I went to see what was up and there were a family of six javelinas foraging across the road. I ran to get my camera and got this photo of the last one heading up the road. Click on the image to see the non-cropped version.
We’re currently growing our garden vegetables for the summer. These Serrano peppers are just about ready to pick and get mixed into a salsa or something that will go really good with margaritas on the patio. 🙂 Click on the image to enlarge.
With four flowers on the saguaro open today, the bees were out in force to collect the nectar and pollinate the cactus. Behind the open flowers, you can see a couple of fruit pods forming where other flowers have already opened. Click on the image to enlarge.
I walked out across the road yesterday and snapped a series of images that I merged into a single panoramic image of the Arizona house and yard. We received some of the office furniture this week and are working on acquiring the rest of the home furnishings in a week or two. We’re getting closer to our completion of the interior and are just a few steps closer to the completion of the landscaping. Click on the panoramic image to see full-sized.
