Skipper on Lantana

We’re in Wickenburg this week doing chores for the new house, so blogging will be light.

Last week I photographed a Sachem Skipper Butterfly as it was gathering pollen from a lantana flower. Click on the image to enlarge.

Cabela and Tebow

Cabela certainly has more energy than Bear does. This is a photo of her playing with “Tebow,” her squeaker toy. She takes the toy, runs around the family room, stops to squeak it a few times and then runs some more. After a couple of minutes of that she will drop the toy and jump up on the couch and crash. Trip to the Vet Place

The Mama and the Daddy took Bear and me to see the Vet today. They were worried about a bump I have on my belly. We got to the Vet place and they said I have an irritation because of a stitch in my tummy that didn’t dissolve yet. They poked it and said I will be better, but it didn’t hurt to start with. Oh well, the Mama and the Daddy were glad I will be OK. I’m going to chase around with “Tebow,” my squeaker toy now, Bye.

Sunday Dinner Treat

pasta-meatballs.jpg

Our Sunday dinner menu included pasta and mozzarella stuffed meatballs with Verna’s excellent marinara meat sauce. We knew that Bear loved anything with Verna’s marinara, and today we now know that Cabela does too! You could almost re-use the paper plates when they were done.

Tennis Anyone?

We just love Cabela, our precocious new Miniature Pinscher. She’s new to us even though she’s two years old. Bear loves her too, but can’t keep up with her – none of us can. Click on the image to enlarge.

Cabela Playing with Bobo

We got Cabela a couple of toys after we got her back to California. One of those, “Bobo” is a doggie toy with a squeaker in it. When she is in a playful mood, she will grab Bobo, and dash merrily around the family room squeaking Bobo and playing keep away.

The other day, I gave her a greenie, a doggie treat that cleans their teeth and sweetens their breath. She grabbed it and made three laps around the family room at full speed before stoping to chew it. When I said she was playful and energetic, I didn’t know the half of it.

Play the video above to watch a 24 second portion of Cabela’s afternoon session with Bobo.
