Christmas Colors

There are natural desert shrubs along the road in front of our house. One of those is a small palo verde tree. I took advantage of its green color by hanging red Christmas ornaments on it. I think it looks festive and cute. Click on the image to enlarge.

First Christmas Decorations

A little at a time, we’re going to decorate our little desert house for the Christmas Holiday. Today, I started out by trimming our little mailbox with poinsettia flowers. They are the plastic kind, but look very nice around the rim of the milk can that serves as an anchor for the post. Click on the image to enlarge.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Happy Thanksgiving! Our dinner consisted of turkey breast, mashed taters, cinnamon carrots, green beans and Verna’s Thanksgiving Dressing all topped with her killer turkey gravy. We’re all stuffed now. Not shown are the dinner rolls and cranberry jelly. 🙂 Click on the image to enlarge.

Happy Fourth of July

We celebrated with beef tenderloin (filet mignon) steaks on the grill and a nice quiet dinner on the patio. Last night, we saw the fireworks from Sunset Park just to the west of us, followed by some awesome summer monsoon thunderstorms in the area.

Flag Day

Yesterday, we bought several red, white and blue bouquets of artificial flowers that included little American flags. We placed them around our mailbox holder just in time for Flag Day. Click on the image to enlarge.
