The Surface of Mars in 3D

Mars in 3D

I found this panoramic 3D image on APOD yesterday. Click on the image to view the full-sized 3D panorama.

From your vantage point on the deck of the Curiosity Rover Mount Sharp, the crater’s 5 kilometer high central mountain looms over the southern horizon. Poised in the foreground is the rover’s robotic arm with tool turret extended toward the flat veined patch of martian surface dubbed “John Klein”.

North Wickenburg Winter Panorama

North Wickenburg Winter Panorama

We drove to the top of the hill behind our house where I took several images to merge into this nice panorama. There is a little wind and the temperature is about 53° and mostly sunny. This view of the mountains north of town has no snow at present, but will likely have some soon with the next winter storm passage. Click on the image to see the full panorama.

On our way to the dog park today, Verna took this image of the mountain range north of Wickenburg. I cropped her image into this colorful panorama. It was another beautiful day here today, with a high temperature of 74° and mostly sunny skies. Click the image to view the full-sized panorama.

Back Property Line Panorama

This is the image I was trying to get when I discovered the hedgehog cactus yesterday. I was standing (approximately) on the north property line. This image is looking toward the south. The south property line extends roughly from the trash barrel on the road at the left to the fence behind the trailer on the right. Click on the image to enlarge.

Vulture Peak Panorama

Vulture Peak Panorama

Verna took an image looking west from Castle Hot Springs Road yesterday. I cut her image down to make this nice panoramic image of the Sonoran Desert with Vulture Peak in the distance. Very pretty scenery. Click on the image to view the full-sized panorama.
