Jerry’s Choo Choo

Jerry Riding Thomas the Train

We went to the California Desert over the weekend to celebrate a belated first birthday of our grandson, Jerry. We brought several presents for him, but this little Thomas the Train motorized ride-on toy might have been his favorite. We weren’t able to set up the track that came with the engine, but his folks will do that for him when they get back to their place. Click on the image to enlarge.

A Lot of Bull

A Lot of Bull

This wonderful welded sculpture of a bull seems to be guarding the gateway to the large yard belonging to a pottery shop in Harcuvar, Arizona. This artistic bull appears to be full-sized and is in reasonable proportions to the real thing.

There are several other metallic sculptures at this place, including a covered wagon, many horses, dogs, other critters and a two-horse drawn stage coach.

One of these days, we’re going to have to stop and see the inside of this pottery shop. This trip, we had gusty winds, were tired and just wanted to get home..

A Sugar Skull Handbag

Sugar Skull Handbag

We were doing a little last-minute shopping down in the touristy part of town today. We saw, but did not buy, this nice handbag featuring “Day of the Dead” (Día de Muertos) imagery. Click on the image to enlarge.

We were shopping for another person (my daughter-in-law) with Christmas Eve as a birthday. We finally settled on a nice hand-made shawl for her. We shipped it 2-day USPS today, so it should be there in time.

Full Moon Rising

Full Moon Rising

I just posted about sunset a couple of days ago, so today I am posting the full moon rising just after sunset over the neighbor’s house with our lovely little cottage in the foreground along with saguaro and ocotillo. It was another gorgeous day today with a few scattered clouds and beautiful blue skies. We sure love it here. Click on the image to enlarge.

Carnelian Necklace – 17th Anniversary

Carnelian Necklace

Here is Verna modeling her new “Empress” Necklace. The traditional list of anniversary jewelry and gifts says “watches” for the 17th anniversary, but I found an alternate to that to be Carnelian jewelry. Therefore, I located this nice silver and carnelian necklace made in Java and Bali with hearts and the delicate swirls of the far eastern designs. She loves it. Click on the image to enlarge.

Happy anniversary, Honey.
