Verna and I never get tired of seeing the Grand Canyon. This, however, is the first time we have come here together in the winter to enjoy the same views accentuated with a touch of snow. Click the panorama to see full-sized version.

After we got to the KOA in Flagstaff, Bear tested her snow feet by heading out into a couple of feet of the crispy white stuff. She had never been in snow before and actually seemed to like the adventure.

We woke up in Pahrump, Nevada, and will fall asleep in California City, California tonight. In the middle, we visited Death Valley National Park, where Scotty’s Castle is one of the attractions.

This beauty is a 4-8-4 steam engine locomotive, popularly used along the main railroads criss-crossing the nation in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We stopped in the Old Historic Route 66 section of Kingman, AZ, today and spent some time enjoying the nostalgia. Click on the image below for a larger version.

Bear has been so good on this trip. She is undaunted by the snow (I think she likes it) and she seems to enjoy traveling with us. Bob and Bear stroll through the snow near the rim of the Grand Canyon in this shot.
