View of the City

crenshaw-view.jpgEvery fall and winter, we get those special days where the winds come and blow all the haze and smoke away from the Los Angeles Basin.

Last weekend on Saturday, we took a drive up to the Palos Verdes Peninsula to see what we could see from the top of the hill. We weren’t disappointed with the views of Santa Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands, although the haze along the ocean’s surface obscured the lower elevations of both islands. I’ll post a photo I took of Catalina tomorrow.

Meanwhile, with all the haze blown out to sea, we had this view of the L.A. Basin as we descended from the hill through Crenshaw Canyon. Click on the photo above to enlarge.
