This month marks the fifth anniversary of our Food Blog, a repository for weekend cuisine and other appetizing things. We originally established the blog as a place to discuss weekend menus and post the results with an image or two.

Before we retired, we used the VernaBob chatroom to communicate with each other while I was at work. Many of those chat transcripts appeared in the posts prior to 10/01/2009, the date I retired – and retired the chatroom, although it still works if needed.
The image above was the first meal we posted on the blog, although there is a recipe posted the same month for one of our favorite Tex-Mex chicken chile verde dishes. Click here to see the original archive for February 2008.
