Dormant for almost a year now, the first couple of gazania flowers are in bloom. I expect to have lots more as summer approaches. This gazania plant is behind the house where it doesn’t get the punishing high-noon Arizona sun. Perfect for producing lots of these pretty flowers. Click on the image to enlarge.

I took this photo of a pair of prickly pear flowers just before we left the Page, AZ, campground. There were dozens of these bright yellow flowers scattered around the campground. Click on the image to enlarge.
Saguaros are in bloom all over town. These are not far from the post office where one saguaro has arms low enough that I can get my camera close. The bees love these flowers and are always nearby when saguaros are in bloom. Click on the image to enlarge.
At long last, some of the ocotillo flower buds have opened. It turns out that the little birdies like to eat the flower buds, so it took a while for me to post opened flowers since I promised to a month ago. Anyhow, click on the image to enlarge.
This nice specimen is up the street from our road at the top of the hill overlooking north Wickenburg. Ahhh, spring in the Sonoran High Desert – just beautiful . . .
