About a month ago, I ordered a Valentine’s Day gift for Verna. Because of a combination of miscues, the delivery of this Native American-made necklace and earring set was delayed by more than two weeks.
Initially, I ordered this Spiny Oyster jewelry set on-line from the Southwest Indian Foundation. They ship via UPS, so I gave them our house address, since UPS doesn’t deliver to PO Boxes. However, UPS will hand packages off to the USPS under certain circumstances. To further complicate matters, we do not yet have a mailbox at our new house, so the USPS held the package at the local post office.
Finally, we went to the post office and asked for held mail for our address. The USPS gave me the jewelry, along with a few other items. Verna has her Valentine’s Day spiny oyster necklace and earrings at last. Click on the image to enlarge.
