Pines and Needles

Pine Cones and Pine Needles, that is.

We were out and about this weekend and, as usual, I had the camera along. We walked under an evergreen conifer in Del Cerro Park and I snapped this picture. Considering the Christmas Season is here, this picture makes for a very nice Christmas card, don’t you think?

The Ghost of Cassini

On this Halloween, the spooks and spirits are reaching far into space. This whimsical presentation of the Cassini Saturn mission, with ghost, pumpkin and black cat demonstrates a lighter side of NASA for the Halloween holiday.

Point Vicente Visitor’s Center Panorama

Usually, when we visit the Point Vicente Interpretive Center, my camera is pointed in the opposite direction from the Center. I thought that I would take a panorama of this nice facility and put it up as a supplement to the shots we take in the opposite directions. Pug Vader

darth-pug.jpgHalloween is two weeks from today. We’re going to be ready for all the little goblins, faeries, witches and what-have-you. What we’re not quite ready for, however, is little trick or treaters like Pug Vader here (ain’t he cute?). I suppose that I could run back to Bear’s doggie treat stockpile if Doggie Darth shows up. Maybe I’ll stock up on dog treats when I go shopping tomorrow.

I looked into some places that you can get one of these cute little costumes for that special pet in your life:

Trick or Trees?

Talk about rolling the season out ahead of time – these artificial Christmas trees were on display at our local Lowe’s Home Improvement Center when we shopped there last Saturday. In all fairness to Lowe’s, they also had Halloween stuff on display.
