More Red Bird of Paradise

Our little Red Bird of Paradise shrubs in the courtyard are getting really pretty with new flowers every day. This is a shot of the second bush that has flowers opening. We expect that there will be more because these grow fast in the hot summer and go dormant in the winter. Next year they should have way more flowers (I hope). Click on the image to enlarge.

Saguaro Fruit

I took this photo of the top of our big saguaro with the withered flowers and the fruit growing at their base. I’m hoping to get a few of the mature fruit from the cactus since they are reported to be sweet and edible. Click on the image to enlarge.

Wide Angle Panorama of the Property

Verna got out the wide-angle lens for her Canon EOS camera today and walked across the road to capture this panoramic image of (most) of the front property line. You can see the RV drive-thru on the left and the concrete driveway on the right. Most of the landscaping is already in place but we expect to acquire an ocotillo to be placed near the courtyard gate. Next summer, the little plum tree by the gate should be a lot larger and fuller.
