A Pretty Pink Gerbera Daisy

pink-gerbera.jpg

While we were in Arizona, this pretty pink Gerbera daisy opened up in a pot on the patio. I guess the rains this year have done a pretty good job of keeping my flowers watered. Click on the image to enlarge.

Mom’s Pink Geraniums

Today, April 23, 2011 is Mom’s ninety-first birthday! We drove to her house this morning and spent a couple of hours visiting. Verna took this picture of a geranium flower cluster on one of the bushes in Mom’s yard. Click on the image to enlarge.

California Poppies

We’re back in California for Easter weekend. When we arrived yesterday, we were surprised at how well the garden was doing with virtually no attention for over a month. The poppies were going crazy with their bright orange flowers. Click on the image to enlarge.

Spring Cactus Flowers

Spring has sprung in the desert! The high temperatures here over the past several days have been between 80 and 95 degrees and the cacti flowers have been popping open like crazy. This slideshow is a sample of the flowers that I have photographed over the past few days. You can pause the slideshow by rolling your mouse over the images and resume by rolling out.

Cactus Flowers in 3D

cactus-flowers.pngVerna posted a photo of a flower that bloomed on our new cactus. When we planted the cactus, it had three flower buds on it.

Last night, the remaining two flowers opened up. This morning, I took a pair of photos this morning, hoping to make a 3D image of the flowers. This is the result.

Of course, you will need 3D glasses to view the red/cyan anaglyph. If you don’t have a pair of 3D glasses, you can view the 2D version here.
