The Hog Trough in 3D

The Hog Trough - 3DToday was “Junk Food Day,” the once-a-month trip to one of our local restaurants to get something decadent, but good, of course. This is the Nearly Famous Hog Trough BBQ and Smokehouse, located in the old downtown area of Wickenburg. Click on the image to enlarge.

I rendered this 3D image in shades of gray rather than color for two reasons; the blue sky background looks black with one eye and gray with the other, also the little hog on the sign is pink, which looks white with one eye and purple with he other. Images like this one are sort of uncomfortable to view in color.

Of course, you will need your free pair of 3D glasses to view the anaglyph image. If you don’t have your 3D glasses you can view the 2D color image here.

Butterfly and Lantana

Butterfly and Lantana

This is an old photo taken in California a few years ago. This was taken in the back yard of our house in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County.

We know that Lantana attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. We are considering installing some lantana somewhere on the property here. We will probably use them for ground cover near our citrus trees. Click on the image to enlarge.

Wickenburg 150th Anniversary

Wagon and Historical Marker

It tuns out that 2013 is the sesquicentennial anniversary of our cute little town. I’m sure there will be celebrations and events, but I don’t know what and when. I’ll keep you posted when we hear of such events and will attempt to attend for photo ops and such. Stay tuned! Click on the image to enlarge.

Moonrise Over Our Retirement Paradise

Moonrise Over Our Retirement Paradise

Framed by the “musical mesquite,” the moon rises in the distance. We’re just a couple of days from the full moon and the late afternoon sunlight on the house makes for a very nice picture. We still can’t get over how happy we are in our retirement home. Click on the image to enlarge.
