Mini Carnations

Mini Carnations

For the weekend, we have this lovely bouquet of Pink/Pink & White Miniature Carnations on display in the vase on the sofa table. I got them at the flower concession at the supermarket on Friday. This batch has a faint carnation fragrance. Click on the image to enlarge.

Gerbera Daisies

Gerbera Daisies

We had to delay our Thursday grocery shopping to Friday this week because we were returning from our California trip yesterday. While shopping, I found these nice Gerbera daisies in the flower concession. I arranged them in the vase in the great room on the sofa table where they will look great for several days. Crepe Myrtle Flowers

Crepe Myrtle Flowers

We don’t see many Crepe Myrtle flowers in Arizona, but there are plenty of them blooming on their trees in California this summer. I snapped this photo of a cluster of the flowers yesterday. Click on the image to enlarge.

Red Bird of Paradise

Red Bird of Paradise

The red birds are doing great in the courtyard. I took this photo a couple of days ago when the sun was shining. Now, however, the clouds are overhead and there is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms. The flowers in the courtyard like the rain. Click on the image to enlarge.

Late Bloomers

Late Bloomers

We were taken by surprise this morning, when we saw another flower on our big saguaro. There were many flowers in late May and early June and we thought they were done.

There are also a couple of new small flower buds that promise to bring more flowers soon. We love spring and summer in the desert! Click on the image to enlarge.

Golden Barrel Cactus Flower

Golden Barrel Cactus Flower

It’s almost summer and time for some of the barrel cactus flowers to start to open. This is the golden barrel cactus that I have in my rock and cactus garden on the west side of the property. We are still expecting more flowers from several barrel cacti that are here – some we planted and some were here when we came. Click on the image to enlarge.
