We were just getting ready to go to the supermarket today, when I grabbed my little Canon A710-IS camera, set it on the courtyard wall and got this picture of us and the two min pins. The camera has an ingenious option to set the automatic delay timer countdown audio to sound like a puppy whining. Notice the dogs both alerted on it and faced the camera as the shutter snapped. Retirement
Camping at the River
We parked the trailer in front of our friends’ riverside home. As I write this, I can look out of the window in the pop-out unit and see the Colorado river. Click on the image to enlarge.
There are no RV campground-type hookups, so we use an adapter and get AC from the house. The AC, the fresh water tank and the propane will provide everything we need on a short trip like this one. We will drain and flush the tanks when we get home using our RV pull-thru.
This is actually the second time we have camped here. Our friends generally have a guest bedroom available for us, but it is booked since there is going to be an event tomorrow with family and friends from out of town here to attend.
The Birdman of Wickenburg
One of our most enjoyable toils in retirement is to keep the bird feeders full to attract the little critters. Verna gets some pretty good images of the little feathered visitors to the feeders. Verna took this photo of me filling the feeders today. The red bottle to my left contains anti-squirrel spray to ensure that the furry little thieves keep away from the treats for the birds. Hidden Hedgehog Cacti
I took a walk up to the north property line today to get a panoramic image of the property from that vantage point. I discovered several hedgehog cacti that were obscured by a fallen palo verde branch. I moved the branch to expose the cacti. Hopefully, Verna will be able to go up there next spring and photograph the bright pink flowers these plants produce. Click on the image to enlarge.
