Still Life - Apples in Monkeypod

Artsy, don’t you think? These apples in the monkeypod bowl on the coffee table looked very photogenic to me this morning.

Now Showing in the Garden

This is just too pretty — a white daffodil with an orange cup. This appears to be a different variety than the Saint Louie Louie daffodil that appeared last year. This one is just as pretty though.

More Tulips

A couple of days ago I posted photos of some tulips — since they are in season, I’ll keep posting them. Today, I took this photo of a tulip indoors in a vase. The morning sunlight was muted by passing clouds to give this beautiful pastel pink over white effect.

Rapid Fire

Today was a fun day at the shooting range — Verna is getting really good at emptying the magazine in her 20 gauge Remington 870 in just a couple of seconds. She maintains good accuracy also.

One of the guys that comes in the range told her that she was as fast and accurate as some cops he knows.

Of course she also loves the little gun.

Crystal and Tulips

rose bowlYou saw the outdoor tulips yesterday, so here’s the indoor tulips that we got at the supermarket on Friday. These nice pink and white flowers are displayed in my nice Waterford Seahorse® crystal rose bowl that I got for Valentine’s Day. The lighting was perfect for this shot coming through the figmented window over the stairway. Click on the image for a bigger view.

Three Tulips

We picked these up about a week ago and blogged about them then. Just look at how beautiful they are now!

Blue Hibiscus

blue hibiscusA couple of weeks ago, we stopped in the garden shop at the new Lowe’s by the Torrance Airport. While we were there, I took some pictures of their flowers. This nice Blue Hibiscus flower caught my eye. According to the Desert Tropicals website, the Blue Hibiscus is a shrub native to western Australia. Click on the image for a larger view.
