New Years Eve
We took a drive today in the convertible since it was such a nice day. Verna drove us to Malaga Cove and afterwards to get some DVDs to watch on the new TV tonight.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought this beautiful Casa Blanca Asian Lily in a Christmas wrapped planter. At that time there were five flower pods which opened into this fragrant and eye-appealing bouquet. I just love these.

Here’s an unusual photo opportunity - a scenic lighthouse with an island in the background with a seagull flying above - thrown into the mix this time, however, is a crummy commercial.

I think the occupants were there trying to spot migrating whales. Taken today at Point Vicente.

Seen in traffic today. Do you think the driver lost a bet or something?

We did some post-Christmas shopping at WAL*MART® to get our present to each other, this new 42-inch HDTV. We waited for the after-holiday sale prices to kick in. It sure looks good with “Pirates of the Caribbean - At World’s End” playing on the screen.

Last week we took a drive to the harbor area; while we were there, we stopped at the 22nd Street Red Car Station. Verna took a photo as this holiday-decorated trolley pulled into the station.

I have a special interest in the Red Cars, since my Grandfather was a motorman during the 1930s and 1940s. On a rainy day last year, we took a ride on the red car.

Verna wanted to go to Palos Verdes on her Birthday for some photo ops. While she did that, I took a series of pictures of the Santa Monica Bay from Palos Verdes Point. This is the result after stitching them together on the computer. Verna is in the red shirt on the left. Click on the image for a bigger view.
Merry Christmas!
