Cholla Spikes

I took a photo of some cholla the day we drove up to Congress. I thought that this would make a nice artistic monochrome photo. Click on the image to enlarge.

Not much time to put something up, so I’ll just post this funny sign we saw on Saturday at the Sportsmen’s Club. Click to enlarge.

The Hassayampa River – East Bank

After visiting the Wickenburg Sportsmen’s Club on Saturday, we drove down a road along the east bank of the Hassayampa River This view shows Vulture Peak in the distance and the river in the foreground. The town is in between the two landmarks. Click on the image to enlarge.

Tex-Mex Chicken Chili Verde

We prepared our Tex-Mex chicken chili verde in the crockpot today. We served it with cornbread muffins and our favorite adult beverages. 🙂 Click on the image to enlarge.

A Desert Graveyard

Desert Graveyards, because of the arid climate, seldom resemble the lawn-covered ones elsewhere. This is the graveyard in Congress, Arizona where there are many very old graves. It was interesting visiting this place today as we ventured off the pavement. Next time, there is a ghost town near this place we want to visit. My New Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit

az-ccw.jpgA week after Bob’s Concealed Weapons Permit arrived, mine showed up in the mailbox at the house. Funny, because Bob’s was delivered to the PO Box. Both of the applications we sent to the Department of Public Safety listed the PO Box as the mailing address. My permit took 45 days to get here but still well ahead of the 75 days expected.

Anyhow, we’re both now able to carry our guns in the other 32 states that recognize the Arizona permit. I feel a vacation coming. 😉
