When sunlight comes through the window over the staircase, it sometimes lights up my Waterford pitcher. I took this close up of little rainbows and light patterns that happen when the sun shines on the crystal.

New Washer and Dryer
Yesterday, our almost ten year old washer broke. I noticed it wasn’t spinning as much water out of the towels and was making a weird noise. The next time I came out, it smelled funny and wasn’t spinning at all. I unplugged it. I let Bob know on the chatroom – he said we would just go ahead and replace the washer and dryer with some new ones we already looked at at Lowe’s.
Woo Hoo!
After Bob got home from work, we jumped into the truck and drove the short distance over to Lowe’s where we ordered these onyx blue Samsung Washer and Dryer with pedestals. They should be already installed when you read this. Click for a bigger image of this sale display I took in the store.
New Sanyo 42″ HDTV
We did some post-Christmas shopping at WAL*MART® to get our present to each other, this new 42-inch HDTV. We waited for the after-holiday sale prices to kick in. It sure looks good with “Pirates of the Caribbean – At World’s End” playing on the screen.
Golden Poinsettia
This picture of some golden poinsettia was taken today during our visit to Lowe’s garden shop. We didn’t buy this one, but I picked up a red poinsettia and a rosemary topiary shaped like a Christmas tree.
Santa Visits the Neighborhood
After Thanksgiving, Santa Claus comes to Torrance neighborhoods to kick off the Christmas Season. Sponsored and escorted by the Torrance Police Officers Association, Santa arrives on his sleigh drawn through the streets by a truck, since his Reindeer are reserved for the actual Christmas Eve Flight.
In this video, Santa and his entourage pass directly by our house to a spot around the corner where he offers candy canes to the kids who board the sleigh to visit.
