That’s what Baby Drake seems to be saying in this snapshot I took when Miguel and Tracy brought him over for his first visit to our house.
Drake is about three weeks old, and seems to be very alert and interactive for his age. We also enjoyed seeing Kane, Jayden, Vanessa, Tony, and Carol. We love you guys!
Yesterday’s BBQ was wonderful. This was the scene on the grill, but we also had chili for the dogs, mustard for the brats and pasta salad on the side. Everything was great!

Aside from a couple of minor chores, we relaxed and enjoyed the day off today. We barbecued brats and hot dogs with sides of roasted potato spears and pasta veggie salad. Excellent! We’ll be watching fireworks this evening from the back balcony, where we have a fine view of the Wilson Park fireworks exhibit. Verna took this picture of these patriotic flowers, which are our bouquet of the week in honor of the Independence Day celebration. Click for a bigger view.
Late last night, just before bed, we stepped out into the patio and were greeted by two fully-open cactus flowers. I grabbed the camera and took several shots. This flower is fully open with another to the right that will open later in the night or, at the latest, tomorrow evening. It has been almost two weeks since our first flower of the season, but there will be a flurry of them over the next several days. Click the image for larger view.
The 10-day countdown is underway. This nice little revolver is lightweight, cute and will be my new best friend as soon as I take possession. I hate California gun laws. I passed their silly test twice before. I want my new toy. It’s paid for, I should have it.
