Christmas Eve 2024

First of all, Happy Birthday to my sweet wife, Verna! She got a new Iona Celtic Cross and chain for the occasion. It’s 14k white gold (the chain too).

As to the Arizona Christmas Eve Sunset, we’re quite lucky to get these quite often. Always a beautiful sight. Click on the image to enlarge.

We will be quietly spending Christmas Day here at our desert abode, just the two of us, since closest family is over 300 miles away and some even further out. We will be talking and/or texting to some of them, however, via the various electronic and social media. Our Christmas Feast will consist of Chicken and Dumplings, a wonderful southern favorite modified slightly for Keto diet purposes.

We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Remember the reason for the season – Christ the Savior is born!

All Saints Day

Tutti Santi is Italian for “All Saints.” Today is the celebration of All Saints in some churches. Verna and I happened to be in Rome, Italy, on November 1, 2000 where we watched Pope John Paul celebrate a special Tutti Santi mass from St. Peter’s Basilica on television in our hotel room.

Today, we’re celebrating by having Lasagna Soup later today. Happy All Saints Day to you all.

26th Wedding Anniversary

26 years ago today, God Almighty put us together forever in marriage. Neither of us have ever regretted joining our hearts in Christian love together. We’re looking forward to celebrating our 27th and on and on.

Mom’s 104th Birthday

Happy 104th Birthday in Heaven to Kate (1920-2013). This photo taken in July of 2013 a few months before she passed into her Heavenly repose. We miss her still.

Easter Sunday 2024

We’re camped in Albuquerque on this Easter Sunday. The dogs, Cabela and Tucker are with us relaxing in the RV. We will be here overnight and then headed out to Roswell, NM, tomorrow.

Our Easter dinner later today, will be Ham Steaks with Veggies. The Potted Easter Lily, below, is with us here in the RV. Click on the image to enlarge.

May this day find all the people of the world rejoicing in the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen!

Christmas 2023

Verna and I wish each and everyone a joyous Christmas. We are celebrating quietly here at home with a planned feast in the afternoon of Chateaubriand, Braised Brussels Sprouts and Loaded Mashed Fauxtatoes (low-carb cauliflower masquerading as ‘taters).

The roast is from a whole beef tenderloin I recently butchered into several steaks and other beef goodies to be consumed later. We will be feasting on them for weeks to come.
